Plain-language privacy, without impossible promises

This notice separates website activity from application data and avoids claiming that server logs do not exist.

Draft status: This notice reflects the current static website implementation and the local-first product direction. It requires owner and legal review before the first production release.

Website data

The current site has no behavioral analytics, advertising trackers, newsletter form, account system, or embedded payment form.

Hosting logs: Cloudflare may process request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, time, and security signals to deliver and protect the site.
Download requests: A future installer host can record basic request and delivery information needed for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate download operations.
Email: If you contact support or security, your email provider and the recipient’s provider process the message and its metadata.
Donations: No donation provider is active. A future hosted provider would process payment information under its own notice.

Application data

SoundOverlay is designed to keep audio-device configuration, local game catalog, workspace profiles, and automations on the user’s Windows PC.

Local data: Device identifiers and names, game locations and launcher metadata, hotkeys, automations, layouts, and preferences are used locally to provide requested features.
Update checks: A production app may request signed update metadata, which can create normal server logs.
Telemetry and crash reporting: No production behavior is claimed here until implementation and user controls are confirmed.

Why data is processed

Website request information is processed to deliver pages, secure the service, diagnose faults, and serve approved downloads. Local application data is processed to perform the controls and automations configured by the user.

Retention and controls

Cloudflare and future providers retain information according to configured service settings and their terms. Application data can be managed through the app and local Windows storage once the production behavior is finalized. Specific retention periods require owner confirmation.
