Common questions

What to know before the first release

Clear answers about availability, privacy, overlays, and game compatibility.

Is SoundOverlay available to download?

The first verified public Windows installer has not been published yet. The download page will activate only after version, file, origin, signature, and checksum metadata are confirmed.

Does SoundOverlay inject into games?

No. SoundOverlay is designed to use normal Windows desktop APIs and separate desktop windows for overlays rather than injecting code into a game or hooking its renderer.

Does my game library leave my PC?

The product is designed around local game discovery and a local catalog. Any future optional telemetry or crash reporting must be opt-in or clearly disclosed before release.

Will the overlay work with exclusive fullscreen?

Exclusive-fullscreen behavior varies by game and Windows configuration. SoundOverlay is designed primarily for desktop, windowed, and borderless-windowed applications.
